Hello<div><br></div><div>Building a cluster consists of two main steps</div><div>1) set up the network</div><div>2) set up mpi-related stuff</div><div><br></div><div>During the 1 stage you must edit /etc/hosts to include hostname resolutions for all your nodes, dont forget to check etc/host.allow! and you should set up an ssh server on each node (passwordless)</div>
<div>with authentication using public keys(quite a procedure). Oh, and you should have one user account (same name) on all machines.</div><div><br></div><div>Then, before moving to stage 2, you should check whether you can ssh to every machine. If you can, and its ok, then write down mpd.hosts (in ~/ on each node)</div>
<div>the file should include all hostnames except the current one.</div><div><br></div><div>Use mpdcheck, mpdtrace to troubleshoot, as written in mpich2 manual.</div><div><br></div><div>Good luck</div><div>Eugene<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">
