Thanks a lot Camilo and Pavan.

I had mpich2-1.2.1p1 and did not have hostlist parameter, I am trying out the 1.3 version now, will update if I get any problem.

Best,

- Rajnish.

Please note that some of these features are added after mpich2-1.2.1p1 was released (such as the hostlist parameter).

But if you are feeling adventurous today, read on :-).

You can pick the Hydra version from mpich2-1.3b1 (http://www.mcs.anl.gov/research/projects/mpich2/downloads/tarballs/1.3b1/hydra-1.3b1.tar.gz) and use it to run applications compiled with mpich2-1.2.1p1.

Building this new Hydra separately will give you an "mpiexec" and some other executables files, which you can directly use with your existing 1.2.1p1 application. Just have the "--prefix" point to your existing MPICH2's install location.
I asked this question just a few days ago and Pavan suggested the
following which worked for me:

host/hosts/hostlist is a global parameter that affects all executables.
Can you try this:

% mpiexec -hostlist node01:5,node02:4,node03:2 -n 5 ./exec1 : -n 4
./exec2 : -n 2 ./exec3

Hi,

Is it possible to use mpiexec.hydra to start a task on a specific node?

Something like:

mpiexec -host node1 task1

But I would like to use mpiexec.hydra to have the above effect?

Thanks in advance,
- Raj.
