Hi,
This issue has been fixed in the 1.1.0a1 release (developer pre-release). The fix will also be included in the upcoming 1.0.8 stable release.
Please try MPICH2 1.1.0a1 (available at http://www.mcs.anl.gov/research/projects/mpich2/downloads/index.php?s=downloads) or the latest source from trunk and get back to us if you still have problems.

Regards,
Subject: [mpich-discuss] Executables from mpif90 can only be run with mpiexec

Dear list

within the last mpich2 version I used (1.04) I could run executables directly (serial) or with mpiexec (parallel). This is not possible anymore with version 1.07 , running directly gives these errors

MPIDU_Socki_handle_connect(791): connection failure (set=1,sock=16777216,errno=111:Connection refused) unable to connect mpiexec tree, socket connection failed, error stack:
MPIDU_Socki_handle_connect(791): connection failure (set=1,sock=16777216,errno=111:Connection refused).

I was using for mpich2 compilation:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/mpich2-intel' '--with-pm=smpd' 'CC=icc'
'CXX=icc'
'F90=ifort' '--enable-ROMIO' '--with-file-system=nfs' '--with-pmi=smpd'
'--with-device=ch3:ssm

Any hints/clues what is the reason for this behavior?

Cheers

Marcel
