[mpich-discuss] MPICH mpiexec can't run if you install matlab

Just to throw in,
matlab uses mpich2 for its parallel toolbox, if you are not going to use that box try removing it.
Matlab also used a different launch method, I know when using mpiexec I had to use --comm=pmi (this is osc mpiexec) 

Don't know if that helps an mpich guru out in your issue.
