[mpich-discuss] Error message with MPICH2-1.0.8

MPICH2 1.0.8 is very old, if possible, you should update to the latest version.  There's a package available for Red Hat, so you should be able to get it through the yum package manager.  Note that the mpd process manager is no longer supported and has been replaced by hydra (see http://wiki.mcs.anl.gov/mpich2/index.php/Using_the_Hydra_Process_Manager ).

If you can't upgrade, then make sure that your home directory has an ".mpd.conf" file that is readable/writable only to you.  See step 9 of the quick start on page 5 of the installation guide: http://www.mcs.anl.gov/research/projects/mpich2/documentation/files/mpich2-1.2.1-installguide.pdf

However, looking at the error message (but without knowing anything about the script you're using), I suspect that the script might be doing this for you, in which case check that the script is able to access the directory.
