Hello Iulian,

Sorry, the mesh file i've sent you was prepared for me by my colleague (in Cubit 14.1), so i'm not really sure of how he managed to do that

That mesh is a refined version of the previous coarser one that worked all right, i've remeshed it myself and now moab reads all of ids for surfaces right!

Not sure what's going on there though, since you can see all of the surface ids in Cubit in the "wrong" file, but cannot say what's exactly wrong with it

Thanks

Anton

The file can be opened in cubit 14.0 too
We do have cubit 14.1, I just extracted it, and put it in /homes/fathom/3rdparty/cubit/Cubit64/cubit-14.1

We are processing acis records, and it seems that some format changed, and we will have to (re)interpret stuff again.
Actually, I created another file in cubit14.1, and I see no issues with global ids.
It could be something specific to this file, or the way the file was created.
Anton, can you try creating the file again (even in 14.1), and see if you still have issues?
Or can you do it in cubit 14.0?

The process of identifying global ids is not easy, it is in a part of the code "process acis attributes"

Some records are not interpreted by us, so we miss extracting the cubit ids. I will look at it more.
So far, I stopped at Tqdcfr.cpp line 2166, but could not figure out the actual global id yet for the 51 entities sets. Hope you have good luck!

Hi Jane,
It was attached to this email, sent on moab dev. You might already have it in your moab folder.
Hello Iulian,

Thanks for advise, i've built the latest version in my home dir and it
worked as well as on my pc
There's something strange still happening while getting global_ids from
Cubit surfaces
Please do mbconvert to .h5m with attached .cub file, and then check
global_ids of surface mbentitysets with mbsize - part of them (5-9) got the
proper ids and the others got zeroes
