FYI for the new guys (and a reminder for the not so new guys), if a
team doesn't have enough players for a night's matches, their opponent
can choose to either take a forfeit or make up the match on another
night. Since most of us want to play pool and not collect wins, we
almost always make up missed matches on another night. However, the
team that didn't a player will be assessed a penalty when the match is
played; at that time, the non-offending team player has to win one
game less that what the handicap matching would indicate. If that
would make the non-offending team player down to only having to win 1
game for the match, then instead, the offending team player will have
an additional game added to his match total. So for example, if the
normal handicaps matching is that the non-offending team has to win 3
games to win the match and the offending team has to win 2 games, then
the penalized matchup becomes 2 to 2. On the other hand, if the
normal matchup for the non-offending team is 2 games and the offending
team is 2 games, then instead of being penalized as a 1:2 match, the
offending team will have to win 1 more game, resulting in a 2:3
match.

Martino, Paul L and myself played last week, so everyone else is
eligible to play a makeup match tonight. With the 2 make up matches,
we have the rare opportunity of winning 7 matches in one night! 7
wins would put us right back in the middle of the standings.
