We played X-Cue-Ses tonight, one of the better teams in the league.
To keep our 1 match lead over them for 1st place, we needed to bring
the awesome...

In the interest of actually getting this out, I'll keep things
abridged:

Paul L went first against pool playing machine Pat in a 1:7. Pat won
the first 5 games, but Paul kept at it and took Pat down in the 6th
game, getting to and sinking the 8 for the win. His 2nd for Team Moe!

Paul H played next against Bobby in a 3:4. They traded wins to open
the match, but Paul's shoulder wasn't 100%, and he went down, 1:4.

Roger went next against John in a 2:6. After getting an early win in
game 2, Roger found himself with most of his balls still on the table
when John was shooting on the 8 in most of the next games.
Nevertheless, after losing games 3 and 4, he stayed in the match, made
his shots in game 5, and won it to take the match, 2:3.

Brian started his match against Tim, a 2:3, simultaneously with
Roger's. Brian also mirrored Roger for the first 3 games, losing the
1st, winning the 2nd, and losing the 3rd. In the 4th, the hill-hill
game, Brian broke from Roger and won, taking the match 2:2.

John V played the 5th match against Ron, a 1:7. Joy... Ron won the
1st, then the 2nd, then the 3rd, then the 4th... you can see where
this is going. But in the 5th, I put a run together which didn't end
until I sank the 8 for the win and match, 1:4!

So we won 4 of 5; awesome brought!! :) Great job, Moe!

The final match of the night was Martino playing the makeup from last
week again Joni, a 2:1. Martino won the first game, but Joni rallied
to get to the 8 first in the 2nd. However, Martino was set to sink
his last ball then the 8, when he inadvertently hit the cueball with
his cue while getting his footing set, giving Joni ball-in-hand on the
8 which she of course sank for the match, handing Martino a loss, 1:1.
