I'm a bit fuzzy on the end scores.

We entered the night with 29 wins, tied for 4th. 3rd was 30, 2nd was
31, and 1st was 34 - Kevin's team. Who we were playing.

Roger first, against Ed in a 5-2. Ed wins first game. Roger wins
second when Ed scratches on the 8. Roger says "I'm going to sink the
8 on the break." I say, "Okay, but not the cue ball." Hilarity
ensues, as Roger breaks and watches the cue ball carom off the rack
and into the back corner, while the 8 makes as straight and fast a
line as I've ever seen for the opposite top corner. It was a thing of
beauty and sorrow all at once. They should've sent a poet.

Roger plays a good rest of match and finds himself able to sink the 8
ahead of Ed. Roger wins, I think 2-3.

Up next, yours truly against Todd. It's a 7-1 pain match. I'm not
playing well, but improving through my 3 (or was it 4) losses. Then
Todd loses in a fluke of a scratch on the 8th. I'm not proud of that
win. But, still a win!

Rob goes up next, facing off against Scott Petersen in a 5-1. Scott
is shooting well, but so is Rob. Rob has a sweet run to come from
behind, and plays a kick-ass safety. He forced ball in hand and got
to sink his last ball and the 8 in a perfect setup. In the end, Rob
took it 1-3.

Paul is next, facing Kevin in a 4-2. Paul's playing well, but Kevin's
having a good night. In the 4th game, Paul plays back from a deficit
with a tremendous run, and is shooting on the 8. Alas, they both
chase it back and forth off the top rail until Kevin finally gets a
shot on it. Alas, Paul loses 4-0.

Brian played last, playing Jim in a 3-2. Brian kicked ass in the
first game, Jim played much better in the 2nd, though Brian kept up,
by the time I left it was 1-1. I think Brian probably took it, in
which case we'll end the week 2 games back of Kevin's team. Should I
be wrong and Brian lost, it'll be 4 games back.
