It was an interesting night.:-)

We played "We used to be good", Kevin Beyers' team.

First up: Bill A. vs. Ed in a 3:3. Bill played pretty well but couldn't
catch a break, Bill went down swinging 3-1.

Next up, your's truly vs Bryan (a fairly new guy) in a 3:2. After
having about 8 shots on the 8-ball, I won the first game. The second
game, I played a little better and won the match 2-0.

Craig played Rob in a 3:2. Craig totally rocked winning 2-0.

Then came the strangest match I've seen in a while. Our own Brian R. vs
Matt in an 8:2. In game 5, Brian made an awesome bank shot (length of
the table) to win the game. The next game was just unreal, Matt had the
9 and then the 8. He has a brain lapse, forgets about the 9 (doesn't
see it). He makes an excellent bank shot on the 8 to LOSE the game and
match. Brian wins 4-2.

Kevin was totally cool about waiting over an hour for John to get there
(about 10:15). But it was well worth the wait. It was a 3:2 (John
needed 2) match. Kevin wins the first two games. Both guys shooting
very well. Then it happened, both had an object ball to go. Kevin
steps away from the table, comes back and shoots/hits a solid. Did I
mention Kevin was stripes? Yes. He fouled. John has ball in hand,
sinks his solid, misses the 8. Kevin air-balls on a cut shot (ball in
hand to John). He forfeits game 3 to John. Game 4 John played
brilliantly. It went down to the wire, but John won the game and match.
2-2.

So gang, we took 4 of 5 last night We were in last place, but 3 teams
were tied for 5th. One of those three was the team we played. A great
job by everyone. Now let's chant our mantra "We're not last. We're not
last."
