<p>Hunh. pdflatex is well-known for stopping and asking for input
when it has a problem (which isn't great behavior for use in a
batch script), but we've generally had good luck avoiding that
situation with the "-halt-on-error" flag.</p>

<p>That flag is present in your ps output. I'm not sure why it
didn't work properly in this case. It should have at least bombed
with a latex error.</p>

I don't believe I've seen the missing LaTeX packages result in a
silent hang like that before, either, but it's nice to have
another tip for users that might hit something similar while we
wait for the new tools to be ready.<br>
