A few people are testing the Linux version of the Blackmagic DeckLink
VIC grabber code that's in Sumover SVN.<br>
<br>
I've now checked in some minor mods to work with the MacOS X DeckLink
API. Although VIC's MacOS X DeckLink grabber code is almost identical
to the Linux version, the performance is much worse on the same
machine, I need to investigate why.<br>

Hit Lab NZ VIC is based on a latter version of SVN VIC's DirectShow
grabber code that's been modified to support larger frame sizes. The
SVN DirectShow grabber code was intentionally limited to a max
resolution of 720p (or it might even be 576p for PAL signal and 480p
for NTSC) but I can't remember without look into the code.<br>

I might get around to modifying VIC's native DeckLink grabber code to
work with the Windows DecLink API one day, the API isn't too different
from the Linux and Mac versions. The performance should hopefully also
be better than using DirectShow. <br>

<p><span class="782364819-15012010">Last year, the HIT Lab in New
Zealand was kind enough to knock an HD vic for the HDMI interface. Now
Nathan Gardiner has moved on and I was wondering if there was anyone
else there that can continue work on it. One major limitation is that
it will stream at a maximum of 128 Kbps. That's way too low for what we
need. Doesn't make much sense to use HD at 128 Kbps.</span></p>
<p><span class="782364819-15012010">Is anyone picking up the work of
Derek Piper and his AGVCR. I'm having some issues where it doesn't seem
to handle the HD streams and during playback, I'm seeing some major
artifacts and image break-up.</span></p>
<p><span class="782364819-15012010">If anyone is working other HD
solutions I am very interested in hearing about it.</span></p>
