hi,

we're trying to debug some strange goings-on here:

1) multicast no longer works in two buildings on campus, i.e., AG doesn't work
going outside the building (no incoming or outgoing streams) although it works
within the building
2) multicast does work in two others

3) beacon clients work (i.e., show up on the beaconserver page) in the two
buildings where multicast doesn't
4) beacon clients don't work in the two buildings where multicast does

am using the latest version of the java beacon client on irix and windows in
both 
the buildings that work and those that don't. we're looking into the software on
the routers. but this scenario doesn't make sense to us. what's wrong with this
picture? any suggestions?

it was noted in one case that the unicast packets from the beacon client to the
server stopped being sent almost immediately, but we don't know why. it showed
up on the server page and then disappeared.
