You can see a diagram of how we set up our node at:
http://www.acl.lanl.gov/accessgrid/description/description.html

Instead of the oval table in the diagram, we now use 2 rows of tables
facing the projection wall, each row seats 8 people. Each table has
a table top mic. There is also a row of seats in the back of the
room (with no tables in front of them). We also added another
projector, pointed to a side wall (the whiteboard in the diagram) so that
if we have a speaker in the front of the room, he can see his
slides or remote audience on the side wall, without turning around
to see them on the front wall (which ruins any camera shots!) The side
projector is daisy chained to a front facing projector so that the
audience sees the slides on the front wall. The biggest problem we
faced is moving the tables back far enough from the projection screen -
30' is hard to see up close. This is a dual use room, used for
regular conferences as well as AG events, so this looks like wasted space
to most people until they attend an AG event.

Hope this helps - good luck!
I am working on the Access Grid project team here at Hursley IBM UK. One of my jobs is designing the room layout. I would like our layout to reflect the layout of other Access Grid nodes. I am wondering if I can have any suggestions for room layouts. What have you done? Where have you placed your cameras? Is there a standard? I will be most grateful for any help.
