D2K Software for Data Mining in Computing
-----------------------------------------------------

Date: Tuesday, October 8, 2002

Instructor: Michael Welge, Automated Learning Group, NCSA

Location: NCSA, South Research Park, 1901 S. First Street,
Champaign

Time: 1:00 to 3:00 Central Daylight Time

Abstract:

Michael Welge will describe the theory and features of D2K (Data to
Knowledge), the next generation in workspace architecture for the
creation of data analysis applications in any domain area. It is a
visual programming environment that allows users to easily connect
software modules together in a unique data flow environment to form an
application. D2K provides a solid computational framework
that supports distributed computing and enables processor-intensive
applications to execute. The program runs under Windows, Linux, and
Unix. Dr. Welge will present examples from industrial users and
researchers who have found D2K helpful to them.
