</b></i>The SC2001
[<a href="http://www.sc2001.org/" eudora="autourl"><u>www.sc2001.org</a></u>]
“Beyond Boundaries” high-performance networking and computing conference,
to be held at the convention complex in Denver, Colorado, November 1016,
2001, will feature SC Global - the first truly global technical
conference on the Grid. <br>
<br>
The SC Global event will use Access Grid technology
[<a href="http://www.accessgrid.org/" eudora="autourl"><u>www.accessgrid.org</a></u>]
to link the SC Core at the Denver Convention Center with dozens of Access
Grid Nodes, or SC Constellation sites, throughout the world. The event
will be a shared, multi-national forum to discuss the impact of high-end
computing and communications on science and society. The SC Global team
is soliciting ideas from individuals or groups to provide Program and
Non-Program related content.<br>

<b><i>Program-Related Content<br>
<br>
</b></i>The SC Global infrastructure will support a rich set of panels,
workshops, birds-of-a-feather sessions and invited talks. SC
Constellation sites are urged to develop unique local programs that
combine SC Global with local material. The SC Global team is soliciting
ideas from individuals or groups to be content providers for the SC2001.
Program-related submission ideas include:<br>

<i>Panels<br>
</i>SC2001 solicits innovative proposals from potential panel organizers
on topics of interest to the HPC community. Panelists should reflect a
range of opinions, and be structured to encourage interactive
participation from the audience. Use of the SC Global infrastructure to
involve remote participation is encouraged.<br>
<br>
<i>Workshops<br>
</i>Small groups of researchers will participate in half-day workshops
designed to discuss current hot topics. We are soliciting proposals
for topics of interest, and experts willing to facilitate these
interactive sessions.<br>
<br>
<i>Birds-of-a-Feather Sessions<br>
</i>These events allow conference attendees to discuss specialized
topics. The conference will provide meeting rooms, and post daily
schedules for Birds-of-a-Feather (BOFs) sessions. BOFs are open to all
conference attendees, including exhibitors and exhibits-only badge
holders. We particularly encourage proposals that exploit the SC Global
infrastructure to create multinational and cross-cultural discussions.
Flexible scheduling will allow us to accommodate time zone
conflicts.<br>

<i>Exhibitor Forum<br>
</i>These sessions focus on technological advances and new products in
industry, and typically draw standing-room only crowds.<br>
<br>
<b><i>Non-Program Related Content - “SC Global Showcase”<br>
<br>
</b></i>As part of the SC Global Access Grid deployment at SC2001, a
large-format AG Showcase node on the Denver Convention Complex exhibit
floor is being planned. The intention is to feature SC Global
Constellation Site events and specialized sessions geared toward large
audience participation, interaction and collaboration. Highly interactive
and entertaining content, as well as distributed and remote
visualization, is being sought.<br>
<br>
We welcome proposals from individuals or groups for content ideas that do
not fit into the Program categories listed above. We look forward
to entertaining, educational and/or visually stimulating proposals for
content that will exploit the Access Grid infrastructure. Session subject
matter is open, and may include computational science and engineering
research through artistic collaboration, and distributed artistic and
musical performances. <br>
<br>
The SC Global Showcase will exhibit Access Grid technology augmented with
enhanced display capabilities. Support for distributed visualization
applications, is planned.Based on participation and available time,
events will be scheduled a number of times throughout the week of the
conference.<br>
