:-)

you'll need to install 2.2.17, no audio or video4linux drivers. then get

http://www-unix.mcs.anl.gov/~olson/AG/Software/Linux/bttv-0.6.4h.tar.gz
http://www-unix.mcs.anl.gov/~olson/AG/Software/Linux/dc10-anl.tar.gz
http://www-unix.mcs.anl.gov/~olson/AG/Software/Linux/vic-jpeg-2000-1105.tar.gz

Unzip bttv, cd to its topleel dir,
make
cd drivers
cp *.o /lib/modules/2.2.17/misc

Unzip the dc10 stuff
cd to its dir
make
./update

then you can untar the vic and run..
you'll want to install this in .vic.tcl in your homedir:

option add Vic.maxbw 25000 startupFile
option add Vic.bandwidth 25000 startupFile
option add Vic.defaultFormat jpeg startupFile
option add Vic.useHardwareComp true startupFile
option add Vic.framerate 25 startupFile
set device "v4l- DC10plus\[0\]"
set defaultPort($device) "SVHS"
option add Vic.transmitOnStartup true
option add Vic.muteNewSources true
